If you’re considering our Hungary, Italy summer camp, or Poland kindergarten programs, this one’s for you. Keep reading.
We say this every year, but this time it’s worth saying plainly. We’re seeing applications for these three programs land months ahead of the usual pattern, and schools are making their offers just as early. If your plan was to sort out a summer or a school year in Europe closer to the time, that plan will very soon be too late.
It’s not that the opportunities have shrunk. It’s that more people have worked out how good these programs actually are, and that Europe is amazing, of course.
Why These Programs Are So in Demand
Hungary keeps pulling interest because it hits a sweet spot. Central European lifestyle, easy travel around the continent, and a salary that goes further than people assume. You’re a short flight or train ride from most of Western Europe, the cost of living is friendly, and Budapest alone is enough to sell most people once they’ve actually visited. It’s the kind of placement that looks good on paper and then turns out to be even better once you’re there.
Italy sells itself. Everyone wants a summer in Italy, and the camp roles are some of the most sought after positions we offer every year. It’s not hard to see why. You’re working outdoors, based somewhere beautiful, surrounded by other counsellors from across the world, going through the same experience. Also, it’s over a manageable stretch rather than a full year commitment, and you can do it if you haven’t graduated yet. That combination, short term, high reward, genuinely unforgettable, means these spots move fast every single season.
Polish kindergartens are their own thing entirely. Smaller, more personal schools, younger learners, and a genuinely different day to day than our standard placements. It’s a specific niche, and the people who want it tend to want it a lot. If you’ve got any interest in early years education, or you just prefer the idea of a tight knit school where you know everyone by name within a week, this is usually the program people ask about by name once they’ve heard about it from someone else. Plus Poland is amazing, we’ve visited several times, and we absolutely love it.
Why Applying Early Actually Matters
This isn’t us pushing urgency for the sake of it. These programs have a limited number of placements, and schools make their decisions early, often locking in their teachers well before the season most people assume applications open.
Think about it from the school’s side. A kindergarten in Poland or a school in Hungary wants certainty. They’d rather confirm a good teacher in good time than leave a gap and hope someone strong applies later. So they interview early, they offer early, and once a role is filled, it’s filled. There’s no waiting list that magically opens back up in spring.
What Applying Early Looks Like
It doesn’t mean rushing a decision. It means starting the conversation now, so you’ve got the full range of options open while they’re still open. Get in touch, tell us what you’re after, and we’ll talk you through timing, what schools are still taking applications, and what the process actually involves from here.
