Less than 2 hours from Warsaw, this historically famous textile hub has undergone masses of transformation to become one of the student hotspots of Poland. Boasting the longest trading street in Europe, Piotrkowska has everything – along here you can score a bargain at the kilo shop or try the best coffee in the city at The Brick Coffee Factory. As a result of being a major industry hub, during WWII it became a production centre for the Nazis, as well as becoming infamous for the Lodz Ghetto.

One of the main tourist attractions of Lodz is Manufaktura, a combination of shopping, leisure and culture which is based in a renovated textile factory. The complex hosts seasonal events, such as ice skating and sporting events, and is often referred to as the heart of the city.
